Associate Financial Planner
About Our Firm
For over thirty years, Financial Service Group, Inc. has been helping clients by blending traditional financial planning concepts with innovative services such as Career Asset Management and Financial Life Planning. Our focus is on serving our clients to help them align their money with their lives rather than by selling financial products. This commitment is summarized in our values such as honoring our commitments, being transparent, working collaboratively, emphasis on learning and putting our clients’ interests first.
Are you interested in being part of the planning team dedicated to serving the needs of our growing base of clients? We’re looking for someone to help support our team of fee-only, CFP® Practitioners as they deliver comprehensive financial planning. You’ll help prepare for, participate in, and follow-up on client meetings. In addition, you’ll be involved in our investment management process and become a technical expert in the area of income taxation. You’ll have the opportunity for personal and professional growth and the ability to guide your career path at FSG.
You’ll be responsible for supporting our team of advisors as they meet with new and existing clients. Whether it’s putting the polishing touches on an investment proposal, interacting with one of the firms’ custodians or diving into clients’ tax returns, you’ll be constantly involved in delivering an exceptional client experience. You’ll also have the opportunity to co-host workshops, plan events, and refine processes. As a member of a small business, you’ll wear many different hats like the rest of us.
It’s our expectation that as you learn our unique business, you will transition into the role of advisor. While this won’t happen overnight, our firm is committed developing an ensemble firm composed of multiple CFP® Practitioners who support each other and serve the clients of the firm. In order to get there, you’ll have to commit to a development program which includes obtaining your CFP® designation (if not done already) and a variety of training programs that provide the foundation for our unique planning model.
We are more interested in finding someone who has the potential for growth and aligns with the rest of the team than we are in finding someone with all the necessary technical skills. While you’ll be responsible for expanding your knowledge of financial planning concepts and developing an expertise around income taxation, we’ll help with the training. In order to become a successful member of our team, you’ll have to demonstrate the following:
– Commitment to lifelong learning
– Personal responsibility for your actions & obligations
– Team player & ability to work well with others
– Ability to communicate verbally & in writing
Benefits & Perks
Our goal is to create a “great place to work” which is supported by our comprehensive benefits package (such as self-directed health benefit allowance, retirement plan with company match, profit-sharing plan, paid holidays & vacation time), our physical space (standalone building with full kitchen, exercise facility & conference center) and emphasis on personal development (company paid training & development opportunities).
